Today RCAA students explored the Rock River to find examples of humans helping and hurting nature. It was a brilliant morning for a short walk. Today was also our spirit day to dress like country folk. Yay for jeans, braids, boots, and plaid!

Ahoy! Today was national talk like a pirate day. Mr. Jobb made it the whole morning doing so, and nearly lost his voice. It was also election day around RCAA. Two officers and three representatives were elected to student council after our assembly this morning. All candidates did a wonderful job giving speeches. We are proud! We are currently discovering what happens at the Sewage Treatment Plant by listening to our guest speakers. It's a bit disgusting, but really interesting. This will help us further answer our guiding question: How does Beloit affect the Rock River?
Today was the first RCAA game day! The amazing Mrs. Watson gathered materials, stole items from her poor husband's closet, and spray-painted trophies in preparation of an exciting event. Fun was had by all. More photos and video to come. PS: I know the slideshow is sideways for some photos. I can't fix it! Woo hoo for a new school year! Things have been a bit wild the last couple of days, but it's clear we're going to have a marvelous school year. Your advisors (and a few students) were relaxing after 3:00, and someone noticed the chocolate covered bugs among Ms. Watson's critter collection. Of course they were opened-- and eaten. YUCK! I refused to partake-- even when Tommy offered me five bucks.
Tomorrow is a noon dismissal day. Don't forget to set up a ride home! |
