Project 16:49

Amazing folks from project 16:49 are coming to visit our school tomorrow during large group advisory.  You can learn more about project 16:49 by clicking HERE.

A huge thank you goes to AUSTIN for organizing a popcorn fundraiser, this visit, and lots of awareness with his project studying homelessness.

I'm using this video in advisory today to talk about empathy vs. sympathy.  Our students are generally really good at being compassionate, caring human beings.  I think it is partly because our school values time to reflect on values like this, and also because we all hold each-other accountable.  You can see this modeled if you ask any student in the building how we feel about the phrase "shut-up."  Just brace yourself. . . lol. . .

It was a snowy Wisconsin morning in the 30 degree range.  All three RCAA advisors accepted the Ice Bucket Challenge that was brought forth yesterday during an ALS presentation.

Our fish dissections went swimmingly! We worked through the four phases of the project process, and this helped us learn how the production phase works.

Students also got FREE T-shirts from the RCAA governance board.  They're pretty spiffy!
